    On September 17, 2011 at Manakin Episcopal Church in Midlothian Virginia a new chapter of the National Society Colonial Dames 17th Century was organized under the leadership of the Organizing President, Anne Cabrie' Forsythe. Ten women made up this new chapter known as the Sir Thomas Dale Chapter (VA-28).  Those ten women were Elizabeth Ayers Berry, Elspeth Ayers Berry, Sara Sturgeon Donald, Aimee Elizabeth Forsythe, Anne Cabrie' Forsythe, Dianne Johnson Forsythe, Margaret Thorp Gravett, Bonnie Cromer Howell, Janis Elizabeth Scovronski and Judith Jackson Scovronski.  The Chapter was honored to have the Chaplain General, Mrs. Eugene Ackerman (Nan) and Virginia State 1st Vice President, Mrs. Michael Deegan (Kathy) in attendance.  Also attending was the Reverend Michael Stone who spoke to the gathering on the history of the area and of Manakin Episcopal Church.

     Over the next 2 years these women and prospective members met to enjoy various programs and share in the camaraderie the chapter.  Through dedication and hard work eleven more members were added to the chapter.  They were Constance Harter Burton, Camillia Robinson Dale, Evelyn Annette Dale, Virginia Elizabeth Daniel, Virginia Peake Daniel, Eudra Pollard Howell, Marguerite White Jackson, Amanda Beth Jones, Elizabeth Scruggs Jones, Deanna Davis McGonigle, and Kate Line Snider.  With the addition of these eleven members the Chapter met its chartering requirement of 21 members on 27 February 2013 and celebrated its chartering on 21 September 2013.
